My backgroundwork as a Counsellor started in 1991 when I began working with Relate Cambridge and achieved a Certificate in Marital & Couple Counselling, theory & Practice with additional training as a Cruse bereavement Counsellor, and a Foundation course in Family & Systemic Therapy as well as Psychodynamic Therapy.
Prior to this I trained as a General Nurse, Midwife (R.G.N; R.M) and worked for a number of years in these clinical roles whilst balancing raising children and counselling.
In 1999, I trained as a Health Visitor and achieved a BA (Hons) Community & Primary Care (Specialist Practitioner) and worked for a number of years in the community working with children in families.
In 2004 I trained at the Phil Parker Training Institute and received a Diploma in NLP, Life Coaching and Hypnotherapy (Dip Clin Hyp NLP Coach) as well as the Lightning Process (R) and set up my private practice.
In 2011 I became a Certified Master Practitioner of NLP with The GWiz Learning Partnership to support my coaching work and am a Professional Member of ANLP (Association of NLP) and AC (Association of Coaching).
In 2011 I returned to counselling and achieved a Masters degree in Relationship Therapy (distinction).
I have achieved my Certificate in Relational Supervision in counselling and psychotherapy and have had 8 years working as a clinical supervisor in the NHS clinical setting.
I studied CBT.
